The charter vessel “Ocean Star” was built in 1955 and has been completely remodeled for the charter business. The boat is kept meticulously clean from stem to stern. The staterooms are clean and comfortable. Our fishing gear is kept in great shape and there is no compromise on the quality of fishing gear and equipment. From the moment you get on board the boat you will be treated to quality service and food, and great fishing of course.

Our captain has over thirty-eight years of fishing experience to share with you. This includes fishing salmon commercially throughout the waters of British Columbia, from north to south. He is well equipped to navigate the waters of B.C. with his 150 Tons Masters ticket and Marine Advanced First Aid. He enjoys sharing the beauty of this rugged coast with you. He will make sure you are in the right fishing spot.

Shawn has been fishing the Prince Rupert area for over 15 years. His guiding expertise will surely lead you to that trophy catch. Let him take you to his favorite hotspots and expose you to the art and beauty of fishing. Shawn's other passion aboard the Ocean Star is cooking. He takes great pleasure in creating his own style of West Coast home cooking. He will gladly fill in and cook up the catch of the day. Shawn’s training and certificates include: Top graduate of Dubrulle International Culinary, Fishing Master IV, Marine Advanced First Aid, PADI, and Open Water Dive Certificates. Shawn looks forward to being your guide on board the Ocean Star.
