Although we are primarily a fishing charter business, it is possible to combine your fishing trip with whale watching, or perhaps just a whale-watching trip. Just outside of Prince Rupert B.C. is some of the best whale watching on the west coast of North America. These beautiful leviathans of the deep migrate through these waters on their way to their respective summer/winter grounds. Often they are found feeding on the abundant sea life found in these nutrient rich waters. Bubble feeding is common and you may be lucky enough to observe this amazing event. A full breach is also possible.

Orcas or killer whales, as they are commonly known, often appear as they chase their favorite prey, the spring salmon, through the waters. Other marine animals such as porpoise’s, sea lions, and sea otters may also be seen. And of course there are always the beautiful eagles to watch as they prey on the salmon and other sea life. You could finish your wildlife-viewing trip with a trip to the world famous Khutzymateen grizzly bear sanctuary, just a short boat ride away.

Enjoy all of this right on board your charter vessel the “MV Ocean Star” in a warm comfortable environment. Have a hot coffee, pull up a deck chair, get out your binoculars and just enjoy the sights. With a large upper viewing platform you can be sure you will get the best camera shot possible.

"Thank-you for a wonderful adventure. I caught the first big fish (spring salmon) of my life in the midst of beautiful scenery, wonderful company and cuisine, perfect weather conditions, and a great variety of life, (clamming, halibut fishing, crabing, boozing, sunbathing, and a short course in navigation ) to say nothing of the benefit of the years of experience of the captain. Sharon and I loved our trip. See you next year!"
