Our ability to be a full service charter fishing boat gives us the freedom to be where ever the fish are.
Your salmon and halibut fishing adventure starts when you board the “MV Ocean Star” at 12:00 noon. All departures are from the Prince Rupert Yacht Club. On your way to the salmon fishing grounds you will enjoy cruising through the beautiful scenery of British Columbia’s famous inside passage, where you may see Orca’s, Humpback whales, Eagles, or Sea Lions.

On our journey north our guides will help you decide what type of gear to use and share with you the art of cut-plugging. Upon your arrival, you will be fishing just a short ten minutes from the fishing area. There will be no long trips back and forth to your “floating lodge.” In the evening after a day’s fishing you can relax and enjoy the evening. Take in the sunset with after dinner drinks.
No Lost Fishing Time
Typically with day charters, there are long journeys back and forth from Prince Rupert-likely in rough weather conditions. With Ocean Star Charters, you experience reduced travel times because we are anchored right on the fishing spot with our mobile charter lodge. This means more hours doing what you came to do, FISH.

Don’t worry about cleaning your fish, running to the fuel station, paying for a room and your evening meal. We have it all covered; outdoor weather gear, boots, bait, first class fishing equipment, and first class fishing skiffs with guides. And don’t forget about the unbelievable food. It’s all-inclusive!

Your salmon and halibut sportfishing vacation will have you fishing from an 18′X 8′ aluminum skiff equipped with 60-75 hp four stroke merc engines. Each skiff is equipped with a sounder, downriggers, salmon rods, halibut rods, fishing tackle and all safety equipment. There is also a VHF radio on board the skiff for contact with the “Ocean Star” at anytime. There are guides available, or you may choose to fish on your own. Your package includes guided fishing each day, after which you are free to fish on your own. We always have a guide on the waters for assistance if needed.
